Anybody who reads this blog knows that the wedding industry is a huge driver of economic activity. Some estimates put that number north of 200 billion dollars a year. If there is one thing guaranteed after death and taxes, you would probably say weddings. Even in tough economic times, there are still people getting married. It’s just one of those things that doesn’t wait for much.
That being said, how does a business position themselves properly to get as many of those dollars as possible? We asked area resident Zack Gaddy who runs BigLeagueSearch.net, a Highlands Ranch, CO SEO Marketing Agency for a little free advice for Denver businesses looking to increase their exposure to couple planning their weddings. Here is what Zack had to say
1. Know what your clients are looking for: Think of all the things that a couple needs when they are planning a wedding. Now, which of those services can you provide? Now, ask yourself, what are those couples searching for when they are looking for a business to hire? Knowing what people are searching for and optimizing your website to appear for those search terms is crucial. In the SEO industry, we call this phase “Keyword Research“. In a nut shell, that means using the tools available like the Google Keyword Planner, to see what people are searching for so you know what changes to make to your site. Lets use florists as an example. After a little research here are the most searched for terms related to florists in Denver.
|flower shops in denver||390|

2. Get active where the brides are: For people in the wedding industry, we recommend they be active on Pinterest. People love using pnterest.com to get ideas for almost everything, that’s especially true for things like weddings. Brides are researching everything from wedding dresses, floral arrangements, wedding favors, you name it, they are looking for inspiration. We recommend you make a page for your business and fill up your boards with high quality photos of your best work.
3. Become a resource: If your site has a blog, write some good posts that answer the questions that our customers are already asking. That will drive traffic to your website from people who are interested in what you do. Posts that answer questions will make you seem like an authority in your area of expertise. When those potential customers are ready to buy they will come back to the authority, which will hopefully be you.
4. Connect with related businesses: Businesses who do flowers probably don’t rent tuxedos, right? Find the businesses that are ranking for tuxedo rentals and see if you can get a link from their site. Not only will people who are on their website hopefully see your link and come visit your site, but it will also help your SEO efforts in the Google rankings. So getting a link from a related business is a win-win opportunity.
